ESHI the consultancy came together over more than a decade of collaboration between its three principals working together with grassroots women’s microsavings groups in Ethiopia, experiencing the efficacy of knowledge sharing and capacity building.

ESHI believes in prioritizing the small and local NGOs, CBOs and CSOs (non-governmental, community-based, and civil society organizations), who are better situated to deliver social services to the most in-need people, which not only improves impact to stakeholders but makes these invaluable organizations viable in the long term. International aid and development NGOs and donors like to say that they ultimately wish “to put themselves out of business.” They also say that they would like to fund local orgs but insist that they are not ready.

We would like to make that statement real with true capacity building for local grassroots organizations.
